Union Township Well Test Event

Dear Resident,

It’s important to remember that New Jersey is still experiencing a drought! Did you know that drought conditions can affect the concentration of some contaminants within your groundwater? Conserving water and testing your well are both important steps to take during a natural event such as a drought.

We are pleased to announce that the Union Township Environmental Commission and Raritan Headwaters Association (RHA) are again co-sponsoring a well testing program for homeowners to test their drinking water for a variety of chemical and biological contaminants at a reduced cost. Lead testing is available for public water users, too.

Water test kits are available for pick up Saturday, May 31st from 2 pm - 6 pm

at Finn Road Park during FinnFest (36 Finn Road, Pittstown).

*Please note Finn Fest's rain date of Sunday, June 1st*

Pay by credit card if you order your kit online or pay by check or cash

when you pick up your test kit.

Sample containers and completed paperwork must be returned to the

Union Township Municipal Building on Wednesday, June 4th from 7 am - 9:30 am.

You may pre-order your well test kit online (optional) at:

Regardless of a drought event, public health officials recommend testing annually for bacteria and nitrates as the quality of your water changes over time. Residents may have their drinking water tested for coliform bacteria and nitrates for $70. In addition, RHA offers a full menu of tests (including arsenic, lead, volatile organic compounds, PFAS, radon, and more) at discounted prices. Monitoring the quality of your water is easy and reliable with the Community Well Testing Program which partners with a certified lab to get your confidential results emailed to you in 2-3 weeks.

Visit TestMyWell.org for the complete menu of available tests.
